Grounded on Ajzen’s theory of planned behavior (1991), the current project in two studies (N = 402) examined Greek and Spanish pre-service early childhood educators’ behavioral intentions (i.e., approach and avoidance intentions) toward young children’s sexual curiosities. Specifically, the current research project aimed to examine whether Greek and Spanish pre-service early childhood educators’ views on sexuality education were linked to their behavioral intentions toward children’s sexual curiosities. The current research also examined whether conservative ideology (religiosity and right-wing political orientation) moderates the link between educators’ views and their behavioral intentions. This study’s findings showed that educators’ views influence their behavioral intentions toward children’s curiosity about sexual issues. In addition, moderation analysis showed religiosity’s underlying role in avoidance intention. This result provides evidence that there are theoretical and empirical grounds to assume that conservative worldviews (i.e., religiosity) significantly influence behavioral intentions concerning sexuality education. The theory of planned behavior not only represents the factors influencing intention but also provides an opportunity to comprehend the impacts of contextual and individual background elements that may be relevant to a particular behavior.

Introduction The current study examined attitudes toward abortion to give a more nuanced perspective of a) the predictive value of conservatism (in political or religious terms) and b) whether one's sense of personal belief in a just world and internalized misogyny influence how strongly political conservatism, religion, and abortion attitudes are correlated.Methods A convenience non-probability sample of 236 Greek Orthodox Christian female participants (Mage = 33.31, SD = 12.56) participated in the current online study. Using the bootstrapping method (Hayes, 2013; Model 1), we examined whether personal belief in a just world and internalized misogyny influence the degree to which religiosity and abortion attitudes and political positioning and abortion attitudes correlate.Results Based on this study's findings, anti-abortion attitudes are higher in religious women who endorse personal belief in a just world and internalized misogyny.Conclusion System-justifying ideologies can serve as significant foundations of gender discriminatory attitudes, such as anti-abortion attitudes. This study underlines the critical role of intervening at both the ideological and individual levels.Implications This study's findings can be useful to organizations promoting gender equality and women's human rights worldwide. Given the significance of these issues for today's societies, it is most important to emphasize women's confronting ways and styles under critical conditions.

The current study examined conservatism's relationship with child sexual abuse myths and the mediating effect of different dimensions of conservative ideology (i.e., right-wing authoritarianism and social dominance orientation) on the relationship between religiosity, right-wing political orientation, and child sexual abuse myths. For this cross-sectional study, convenience sampling drew 233 participants via Greek social media platform advertisements and snowball sampling. Bivariate correlations and multiple regression analysis were used to examine associations between child sexual abuse myths and predictor variables. Two parallel mediation models, where religiosity and political positioning predict child sexual abuse myths, mediated by social dominance orientation and right-wing authoritarianism, were also examined using PROCESS macro (model 4). The current research highlights the need to acknowledge the role of conservative ideological dimensions and processes in child sexual abuse myths tolerance. It contributes theoretically and practically to our understanding of child sexual abuse myths, suggesting that social dominance orientation, as a facet of conservative ideology, may significantly predict child sexual abuse myths tolerance.

Introduction: The current study examines how conservative social ideologies and religiosity interact to predict lower levels of knowledge, social intolerance, and negative attitudes toward interacting with transgender and gender nonbinary (TGNB) individuals.Method: An online cross-sectional research was conducted between March 2 and June 2, 2021. Two hundred and sixty-six participants were recruited for this study. The mean age was 29.30 (SD = 11.98, age range: 18-60 years). The study used a between-subject correlational design. A multiple regression model was used to predict participants’ TGNB Knowledge, Attitudes, and Beliefs from the other research variables based on the importance of associations. We examined our hypotheses regarding the moderating role of conservative values and political positioning on the linkage between religiosity and TGNB knowledge, social tolerance, and attitudes toward interacting with TGNB individuals using PROCESS (Model 1).Results: This study’s results show that the conservative cis-normative system (i.e., religiosity, conservative values, and right-wing political orientation) seems significantly linked to TGNB social intolerance.Conclusions: This study's findings suggest that a broader definition of conservatism encompassing conservative values and right-wing political orientation may be useful in predicting trans-negativity.Policy Implications: The levels of social tolerance, acceptance across the gender spectrum, and attitudes toward interacting with TGNB individuals should be considered by those working to change the attitude toward TGNB people.

Given the link between religiosity and anti-euthanasia attitudes, the current study examined possible factors that could mediate the association between the two constructs. Thus, this study proceeded a step further, examining the contribution of authoritarianism and socio-cultural characteristics (i.e., age, gender, political positioning, and educational level) as serial mediators in the relationship between religiosity and anti-euthanasia attitudes. A sample of 236 (196 female) individuals participated in the study. Data were collected between August and November 2022. The associations between the variables were assessed using Pearson correlation analysis. Multiple regression analysis was performed to develop predictive models for euthanasia attitudes and PROCESS macro (Model 6) for the chain mediation tests with Bootstrap analysis. This study’s results show that religiosity and anti-euthanasia attitudes are related, and their relationship is mediated by two serial mediators: right-wing authoritarianism and age. Alternative models were also tested to strengthen our model. This study has significant practical implications since it underlines potential factors for intervening at an individual and a societal level to influence euthanasia attitudes.

The current study tested the hypothesis that personal belief in a just world and gender role-related attitudes would mediate the effect of women’s sexist attitudes (hostile and benevolent sexism) on their self-silencing tendency to sexism. An online cross-sectional study was administered between September 2 and December 30, 2021. The total sample comprised two hundred and twenty-one respondents (Mage =38.22, SD = 2.75). A between-subject, correlational design was utilized. Bootstrapping analysis for simple mediation models (Hayes, 2013; Model 4) was performed to test the current study’s hypothesis. This study demonstrates that gender role-related attitudes and a personal belief in a just world could act as a set of a system justifying beliefs buffering women’s motivation to challenge everyday sexism. The theoretical implication of this relationship is that individuals who endorse sexist attitudes and gender stereotypes are expected to exhibit corresponding behaviors.
